Re: Recruiting

Looks like we lost out on Graves, but we'll able to see him when Montana comes to town. RB - Zach Graves, Whitney (Rocklin), 5-9, 163, Sr Graves led Whitney to a 13-0 record and a Sac-Joaquin Section Division 4 championship in just its third year of existence. The Sacramento Bee's All-Metro Offensiv...

Re: Are losing a member of the coaching staff?

I wouldn't be suprised if there are more changes in the coaching ranks before too long.

Re: Cal Poly May Move to the FBS

Great idea. It would be great to see where he thinks changes need to come and what positions he'll be recruiting for.

Re: Remedies for Hurting Hornets

I agree that we have the right head coach, but there is some (probably more than some) question regarding the position coaches. The O line needs someone to coach them on how to protect, move, slide, whatever you want to call it. There are good coaches out there from this area that could do wonders f...

Re: eGriz fans calling out Hauck

The fans in Montana have wanted Hauck gone for a while. Supposedly he will be joining his brother at UCLA next year. The fans really want Brent Pease who is at Boise State now as a coach. Pease is a former Griz quarterback that led them to a championship years ago . Even though Hauck has been succes...

Re: Sac State vs. Portland State (Homecoming) Sept. 27

Gamboa has been solid all year. As I recall, MBT has been his holder and I noticed on the missed extra point that the holder did not get a clean spot. After that, the holder was working on the sideline to get a better spot. Little things like that should be cleaned up with the new holder this week. ...

Re: Hornets vs. Southern Oregon Thread

It will be a long day if the defensive backs play like this against Weber. The O line did not do a good job of picking up the blitz either, and that is something that will need to be worked on this week. Run blocking was good, Wilkens and Crox got a lot of their yards just by being quick and having ...

Re: Hornets vs. Southern Oregon Thread

Has anyone heard anything regarding Hilliard's injury? The Bee mentioned on Sunday that it was a shoulder separation, but that's all I've seen on it.

Re: Spring Practice

If you're talking about the spring game, Travon did not play because of a hamstring injury in the previous scrimmage. Hopefully, that's the only problem he has. He was active in earlier scrimmages and looked good.

Re: Spring Practice

Good crowd at the spring game today. Largest I've seen in the past years. Duncan looked the best I've seen him, more mature, not as jumpy in the pocket and throwing some nice balls. MBT might throw a tighter spiral, but today he had nothin' on Duncan. The defense was active, Zack Nash could be a pla...

Re: Spring Practice

Good session Saturday. Duncan looks so much better this year. The center is John Taylor (#59, with his roster number #56). Castillo and Youtsey both have been getting a lot of playing time on the line. This is good because they're both 1st and 2nd year players. David Coleman has looked good after mo...

Re: Spring Practice

Good description of the scrimmage! Could the center (#59) be Jay Martin who came from Liberty High School and was Jason's center there? Another plus is some of the guys coming in (Caleb Hale for one) that could make the linebacking unit a real monster, plus some of the young CB's could challange thi...

Re: Spring Practice

From what I saw, McCleod has a tremedous arm with good touch. The best thing about the day was the difference in attitude, discipline and execution from what I saw during the first scrimmage last year. The guys were on the same page regarding football rather than looking around seeing who was in the...

Re: 2008 Season Prospective

Tony Washington and Dylan Lane should be able to pick it up this year if either Smith or MBT can get them the ball. Is Andy White (2007 recruit) still on the team? If so, he was touted as a good receiver in high school. Chase is a big target from a good small school program, but we'll see if he has ...

Re: 3 more recruits....

With 2 receivers and a LB coming in, does anyone know if Andy White and Zach Nash will be on the roster this year? Both were signed in 2007 but did not play. White was/is supposed to be a pretty fair receiver and I thought that Nash was being talked about as another in a long line of pretty good Hor...

Re: Season Tickets

So far we have Humboldt State on 8/30, Weber State 9/20, Portland State 9/27, at Montana 10/18. at Eastern Washington on 11/1 and at Idaho State on 11/22. Don't know what the other non-conference games will be. Season ticket notices didn't go out until late July or early August last year. We'll stil...
