Re: Big News Coming Next Week

Good job linking to a "Page Not Found" for your conference realignment nonsense evidence. Sorry https://asunsports.org/general/2019-20/releases/20200122lh6utq I've only skimmed it, but this looks more like a plan to get another NCAA Tournament bid (by splitting apart once the continuity is ea...

Re: Big News Coming Next Week

Said the ASun would get CAA schools and others and go FBS. Lo and behold that conference announces plans to more than abouble their membership. https://asunsports.org/general/2019-20/releases/20200122lh6utq There’s is a lot of FCS schools that want FBS near them: JMU Delaware Stony Brook Albany mayb...

Re: Big News Coming Next Week

Maybe that’s why the Dakota schools keep expanding their new athletic facilities because we have dreamers with money. 'WE'. You just claimed to live in the inbred South (actually explains a lot). So WTF is this "WE' $#!T ??? You aren't part of the equation, pal. FWIW, Dakota schools can afford to e...

Re: Big News Coming Next Week

Sac State and Davis to the PAC-12 is more likely than this SF non-sense, and that’s really saying something! Davis will be long gone to FBS before this board sees sense in a move up instead of their normal penny pinching here. Maybe that’s why the Dakota schools keep expanding their new athletic fa...

Re: Big News Coming Next Week

Wichita St will resurrect fb and play in the WAC for that sport. They hope to upgrade to the American after a few years as the already have upgraded their bb band to a marching band. It’s just hard to get 200+ people in formations on the basketball court. Mo St and Wichita St would be perfect associ...

Re: Big News Coming Next Week

Missouri St will hire either Art Briles or Bobby Petrino for head coach. Mo St will be a WAC fb rival to Sac St. Those going FBS need an experience fb coach like Cal Poly got and you and UC Davis preciously got. Mo St will stay in the MVC for non football. Waiting for FBS coaches moves by Wichita St...

The three Cali FCS announce a move to the WAC.
Might be as late as Feb but it will happen.

So now all three California FCS schools have their candidates in place for an FBS move, as planned. A move the the WAC should happen in 40 days.

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

Here is confirmation from ESPN that Montana wanted FBS and wanted a spot in the old WAC. https://www.espn.com/college-football/news/story?id=5792840 Montana St didn’t have 15k seats at the time, and probably blocked the move with the State Board, which wants both schools in the same conference. Mont...

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

I’m not proselytizing among dumb [bleeps] like here. Only telling people how Presidents are reacting to big money CFP contracts that are coming. The Presidents can smell big money and they will be in line.

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

Here is a story about NC A&T looking at moving up. https://www.greensboro.com/sports/college/ncat/moving-up-if-a-t-is-serious-about-a-jump/article_827dbab1-2c76-5188-a08b-74d2ebf6946a.html A&T has an athletic budget of less than half BSC schools that I’m saying will move up to FBS. Look for the Atla...

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

None of you seem to have grasped the economics of a move to FBS with at least nine other teams. R Liberty went FBS on its own. It had to pay five FBS teams a year to play in Lynchburg, probably over five million a year. Some was lowered due to playing a home and away series where the cost is zero. T...

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

How are the Kali schools going to be able to go FBS when the athletes will now be paid? An already tight budget now becomes and anchor. The bottom FBS and the upper FCS will merge and form a new FBS-cost containment level of DI. Like in 1977 (?) when they re-organized the whole DI landscape. How ca...

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

The Weber State fan board said their President addressed a fan club and stated there was a coming realignment of the BSC that will be research heavy institutions on one side with low research schools on the other. While that is not a press release, it comes close to what I'm saying from a President'...

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

Colin Cowherd talked about EWU was going FBS. Cowherd is an an EWU alum and a major donor.

Most of the BSC moveups have been told to keep their mouths shut. But Colin's mouth is always open.

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

My problem is the alleged "decision" by Big Sky members 7 years ago is not publicly documented or on record which leaves it all open to subjective interpretation and wild-eyed speculation. You cite a deleted blog post and an opaque statement by Fullerton, not documented either. You can't prove it. ...

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

Agree that FBS is getting more bifurcated, with G5 and P5. Suspect the G5 will have its own playoff eventually with significant money. Remember when Fullerton floated the idea of merging with the WAC, and took that as a de facto agreement to redefine their geography. The G5 didn't have any problem g...

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

@fightinsue. When did Fullerton state the discussion to the press? Timeframe? Did the press write about it? If so, what newspapers? Fullerton never stated FBS, but he said a very important and controversial issue was presented to the teams and they had to support it or oppose it. Could have been 20...
