• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

2017 Sac State baseball

Starting the thread again about the 2017 Sac State baseball team.

Sorry about the typo for the k in baseball. Must have been thinking about strike outs ...smile

Great to see the team start out with a 10-2 win against Washington State this afternoon with a night game coming up soon to start off the season.

and the Hornets win again over Washington State in the night cap 6-4 under the lights .

Great beginning to the 2017 season.

Keep up the great play against the Pac 12 foe from the north tomorrow.

Hornets finish a 4 game sweep of Northern Kentucky from the Horizon Conference today on campus.

Sac State starts off the 2017 season with a 6-1 record heading into a series with the dreaded school from the north, UW.

My old school friends from Cal call the University of Washington as the dreaded school from the north.

Always liked that piece of history.

Best of luck to the Hornets against the Huskies.

If you cant actually be there, you should definitely listen in or Live Stats.

Only ~300 average attendance and some night games, with the lights we should be pulling 700-800. Windy, cold doesnt stop Giants/A's fans, or Rivercat for that matter. What will it take to fill the John regularly?

Really impressed with this team so far, for some reason I feel they can pull off the win given adverse situations. First time I have felt really confident about a Hornet team in a long time.

Yesterday's game was rained out. Tonight Dillon goes 6 innings of one hit ball, Hornets roll 11th ranked Udub 7-1.

Congrats to the Hornets for bringing some Sac State athletic excellent to Kansas and defeating Wichita State in front of 1,700 in the middle of the country. Very sweet victory to conclude the stellar pre season slate at 11-8.

Now on to WAC play and first up at Northern Colorado, a Big Sky foe in most sports, but the Big Sky does not sponsor baseball or several other sports that Sac State competes in.

and hope more folks do start coming out to games now that we have lights at last

Yep, confident win in the 9th inning.
Great environment at Eck stadium, easily the nicest college baseball facility in the country.
Lets sweep the Bears in Greeley.

yep.

Very odd that our Hornets got swept at Northern Colorado.

But they did so moving on to last night with a 9-1 win over UOP at home

So now on the road again at Utah Valley.

Step it up Hornets and get some wins on the road against thee schools where there are still probably some snow on their fields.

Looking to Sac State baseball, softball, tennis and track to bring us a championship in a year that has been without a championship for the Hornet athletic program.

And know that the players and coaches this year are doing their best.

and my bad for not mentioning our golf teams and beach volleyball and crew.
Lots of team still out there for bringing home a championship this 2016-17 year.

Great to see a Sac State win against UC Davis.

Been 5 or more months in this sports year since Sac has beat Davis
in any sport.

Glad to get that streak done with.

Moving on.

Hope the Sac State baseball bats come alive this weekend and the rest of the season.

Great to see the Hornets bats explode for 5 home runs and a 9-0 victory at Seattle.

Good luck tomorrow and hopefully sweep the WAC foe to the north.

Great to see the Hornets finish the regular season with a sweep of UTRVG. Congrats to the seniors for a great two to four years at Sac State.

At 28-27 Sac State is now on to the WAC tournament as the 3rd seed.

Best of luck to our Hornets in Mesa, Arizona
