What's the general consensus on this one? Looks like we beat them 34-10 in 2015. It would be nice to get the running game going a little bit more since we are not playing a PAC-12 D-Line.
Agree 100%. They only lost 27-17 to New Mexico so and they played 4 games last season going 1-3 but with a close loss to Texas Tech 35-33. On the surface, this looks like it could be an entertaining high scoring game.
I won't be able to watch live (will be at the Richmond NASCAR race) so I hope I can catch a replay on ESPN+ in the morning.

After watching the CU game it is obvious the team needs to get better at running the ball. CU looked really good at the run defense so maybe we will look better with another FCS team. I liked the way the team played hard the whole game and didn't give up. I also watched the Montana game and they looked like they will be hard to beat. I also watched the Weber game and they played tough, but I think we will have the most trouble with Montana. CU looked better than Washington so it might not be a good comparison and we could win both the Montana and Weber games and have a great season.

Gotta get better with running the ball. If they're having the same poor offensive output at what point do you just take away the play calling from Max? That's the problem with nepotism. Are you going to bench your son if he's not throwing TDs? Also, coach Ed said he made mistakes with the play calling too. I wonder if they had kept coach Baldwin the outcome in Boulder would have been different? I'll chalk the bad offensive play to the fact we hadn't played a game in two years, but I could be wrong. Until I see something better on offense, I'll say HBU17, UNC 10.
Yeah, we had a first year coach with a new offense against a Pac-12 team and did surprisingly well. Way too premature to make any judgements on play calling or ability to run (against FCS schools). While I think we need to balance out the offense, thinking they would be able to do it against CU would be a tad bit optimistic.
I think this should be a competitive game, which is not an indictment of where UNC is but a recognition that we are in the early stages of a new program and HBU is a solid team.

Yeah, I think this game is going to be a good measuring stick for where we basically are. We have the toughest schedule in the Big Sky so hopefully we take the "W" on this one.
Hope our attack is more balanced, but it wouldn't shock me if they just throw the ball 8,000 times a game as well. Even if Baldwin was here, I am pretty sure Oregon State led the FBS in passing attempts under his offense, so we would probably be doing pretty similar things.
I've always been more of a clock management style of football fan, but as long as we start moving in a positive direction as the Bears I don't really care.

Ed said after the game it was a combination of some soreness for Dylan and wanting to get Martin some reps.
Watched the game at 2:00am after getting back from the Richmond NASCAR race (love that ESPN+ has the games now).
Beanhead, glad your positivity was rewarded, you were on it. Really happy they got the running game going as well.
I know nothing about Lamar (next weeks opponent) but hopefully we can repeat that result against another Texas based team.

Congrats on the big win! I'm eating crow right now for breakfast. I'm happy lots of players got into the game. Let's hope D McCaffrey is not hurt too bad, we will have to wait for testing. If he needs to sit against Lamar, I think we can still win, as we will need him for conference play.
