Re: Coaching Search, for real this time, thread

I'm trying to keep an eye on social media, other message boards, etc. Troy and Rath are both in the dark, and the Tribune...well...don't hold your breath. Troy did mention on Twitter that alumni are clamoring for Marty English to take over. Dunn was hopeful they would have someone by early signing p...

Re: Coaching Search, for real this time, thread

What about KSU QB coach Collin Klein? He's a local guy - graduated from Loveland High School and he's an up-and-coming coach.

Re: Coaching Search, for real this time, thread

The worst thing UNC could do is even give Stitt the chance. The guy is overrated.

Re: Coaching Search, for real this time, thread

Dunn mentioned there is no real time line for the hire, but would like to have a coach in place by early signing day, which is Dec 13th or 14th. I'm interested to see the short list when it comes out. Maybe this week?

Keep on eye on the website footballscoop.com. They've got a pulse on just about every position open and the source is pretty reliable.

Re: Coaching Search, for real this time, thread

It was overdue for a change at the top. Good job graduating players and getting good grades, but it's about wins and losses at this level. Coaching thoughts: 1. Darrin Chiaverini, assistant head coach at CU. This would be a homerun and probably unlikely. 2. Wristen, still probably unlikely 3. Gregg...

Re: Coaching Search, for real this time, thread

The worst thing Dunn can do is hire Bob Stitt. I don't even what that guys name mentioned as a candidate. My first three would be... 1. Wristen 2. Stugart 3. Dave Logan...not kidding. Why would Stitt be bad? Gimmicky offense. No thanks. He did not do well at Montana, and remember, we even beat the ...

Re: Coaching Search, for real this time, thread

Dunn has been very good at hiring good coaches. I think someone mentioned Mike Armour, and if we are going to keep anyone on staff it should be him.

Wish nothing but the best for the man. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere that he will succeed at. I met him only once, but he was very kind to me and my wife.

Game Day - Cal Poly, Collins Last Game?

Good for the seniors to have a chance at W in their last home game of the season. There are some good one's like Knipp, Luke Nelson, Noel Reid. I hope they end their careers with a W. Could this be Collins last game? I don't think so, I think his buy out is too much $$$ for a school that is broke. I...

Greeley Tribune has stopped reporting on UNC athletics

In case you have not noticed yet, the Tribune has stopped reporting on all UNC athletics, besides the once-in-a-while major stories. I'm not joking. I have emailed the Tribune and the reply I got was that the school does not generate enough interest from readers. I doubt this is the true reason. Som...

Re: Coaching Candidates, Thread Number 50

Anyone with "inside" info on what they a.d. is thinking regarding a change in staff? When Downing was fired years ago, we had so many posters with "inside" info. We had former players, former department members, it was nuts. If we win the next two, at Sioux and at home against Cal Poly, I would imag...

Re: Win One for the Knipper!

Good win for the guys yesterday! I was watching on Pluto and I kept thinking to myself...these are the games UNC usually gives away. Root misses 3 PAT's, and our other kicker misses a field goal. I was sure these were going to come back and kill us. However, the guys have not given up and they're pl...

Re: Win One for the Knipper!

Yep, it would be great if we could win it just for him. He's a great player, a good kid and good leader. I won't fault this staff for being able to recruit QB's. They've been spot on with that one. It has been the linemen on defense and offense we've struggled with.

Re: We're #243 out of 255 schools

Purely pathetic. Don't hold your breath on any changes in the off-season though. The school is broke.

If anyone else wants to be a bit depressed as well, go look at our stats for the conference. We're just about dead last in every category.

What a mess..

What about Robin Pflugrad former Montana head coach? He's at NAU right now. He has a vast amount of experience recruiting the West.

Re: Coaching Candidates, Thread Number 50

My first choice would be to grab a coach from a winning DII program, and a program that wins consistently. I would try for either Wristen first, then maybe the guy from NW Missouri State (Richard Wright). If we are going coordinator route, why not someone from NDSU's staff? They know how to recruit ...

Re: Facilities playing part within Dynamic of the Big Sky

Facilities do play an important role, and we're extremely far behind; but I would rather have the right people in the buildings. Perfect case is CSU with their new on-campus stadium. That was supposed to help recruiting but they're 3 years in and their program is still struggling. I say find a Joe G...
