Re: Early Signing Period: Bears Ink 3
Added a QB, Nate Overholt from Tyler Junior College in Texas. Originally from Oregon and was Gatorade POY for Oregon in 2018. Looks like he’ll have 4 years to play 3. In at semester, so he’ll go through spring ball, which is huge.

Re: Coaching Staff?
Who's going to coach the o-line? That has been the weakest part of the team and they did not name a coach for that position? They named coaches for each offensive position except for QB and OL. I assume Baldwin will work with QBs and Moe is mostly an offensive coach and has prior OL experience, so ...

Re: Coaching Staff?
Coaches convention is Jan. 12-14. We probably won’t hear much until after that. And if he does pluck someone from a current gig, if it’s a lateral move, they usually stay at their old job through signing day.
I’m most curious about the coordinators and the S&C coach.

Re: Coaching Search, for real this time, thread
So are all the other assistants still working (doing recruiting)? If they weren’t dismissed, then they’re still under contract to the school and working. They’re probably mostly overseeing day to day stuff, working with the returning players on off-season workouts and such. If they’re recruiting, i...

Re: Collins is Out
Text of email: Dear Fellow Bears – After yesterday's football game, I met with Earnest Collins and informed him that he will not be retained as UNC's Head Football Coach. In his nine seasons leading the Bears, Earnest has mentored hundreds of young men helping them find success both on and off the f...

Conference rule. The Big Sky allows schools to schedule each other as non-conference games and that’s what we did with Sac State this year. We did it last year with them in Greeley; this was the return game.

Re: Hinrichs is a candidate for Kansas AD
KU will probably make a hire sometime in December. Hinrichs will not be the guy. I don't believe that he was every truly a candidate. He made a few initial lists mainly because he used to work there and is an alum.

Hawkins contract expires after this season. CU kept him around for this season because they couldn't afford the buyout last year and with his contract expiring they'll just let him walk.

Re: Do you want UM to leave if they can?
I might be remembering this wrong, but I think that the NCAA has placed a moratorium on schools changing divisions, i.e. they won't be able to move up to join the WAC. Could be (and probably am) wrong.

Re: 2011 QB Recruit
Wow, Northern Colorado really stands out on that list with teams like Michigan and Notre Dame. The thing about the list on Rivals is that those are schools that he is interested in and they are not necessarily interested in him. Ask most juniors what their top 5 schools are and you are going to get...

Re: Displeasure with Downing
I don't know; he appears to be in over his head as a head man but he was a capable assistant. He'd probably make more money, have less stress and better job security. I wouldn't be surprised if he left in the next week or so.

Re: Displeasure with Downing
Does anyone think that Downing might take off for an assistant gig at a BCS school? I'm sure that he's buddies with Turner Gill and he'll probably need to fill out a staff at KU.
