• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Ray Kraemer Signs LOI With...Nevada?

Hi Wildcat fans! I'm a Nevada fan with some questions regarding a recruit they just signed today.

He's a fellow by the name of Ray Kraemer. Considering we were under the impression that Coach Fox was looking at a couple other players to use his last scholarship on, you could imagine our surprise and confusion when he announced the signing of Mr. Kraemer when he apparently committed to Weber State less than a month earlier! Here's a link to the article from the Pack's website detailing the signing: http://www.nevadawolfpack.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10000&ATCLID=891611

And here are my questions: what sorts of skills and abilities does this kid have from what you guys can gather? What did Weber's coach have to say about him when he gave his verbal committment?

We're kind of in the dark about this guy and would like to know more about him before we jump to any conclusions. Additionally, feel free to stop by Nevada's site on rivals.com! http://www.wolfpackchat.com/

Instead of asking about his basketball skills, maybe you should be asking about his character. What type of player gives a verbal to a university, talks about how excited he is to be joining the program, then a month later goes back on his word and signs with a different university?

True that Seldomseen! They can have him...Nevada can use anyone they can get their hands on...they have no chance against USU next yr.

Nevada has been the class of the WACK for years, take Carroll out of USU and they are an average team.

PSUVikings that is true but the bottom line is they do have Carroll...well assuming he stays. Carroll n USU remind me of Weber State and Jermaine Boyette in 2003.

Anyone remember him?

Apparently he wasn't going to be on scholarship...maybe we will play Nevada next year??

Anyone know our record against Nevada? Against USU, Idaho, and Boise St we r a combined 118-82 overall. I'm guessing Nevada rarely beats us like most of the WACK teams...

Nevada has only been in the WACK for 5 or 6 years at the most. Nevada was lucky in the fact that everyone passed on Fazekas because of his foot/leg problems. Without Fazekas, Nevada would be an also ran in the WAC, like they were to Utah State when they were in the Big West. Take Fazekas out of Nevada, and they're an average team......but still 2 clicks above Portland State. USU has played Nevada 33 times, and holds a 23-10 advantage in the series.

Utah State has a post season record over the last 9 years that Portland State fans would chew off they're legs for. When was the last time Portland State made post season play? Inform yourself before you make a fool of yourself. Jaycee Carroll has only been the best player on USU for one year.....last year. Before that USU had Spencer Nelson and Nate Harris. You obviously don't know your basketball, so please......don't post anymore.

As for Weber vs USU, Boise State & Nevada....who cares. USU is 34-24 all time against Weber State. Since Morrill has been head coach, USU is 7-3 against Weber State.

Utah State has a post season record over the last 8 years that Portland State fans would chew off they're legs for. When was the last time Portland State made post season play? Inform yourself before you make a fool of yourself. Jaycee Carroll has only been the best player on USU for one year.....last year. Before that USU had Spencer Nelson and Nate Harris. FYI PSU has landed more Prep 100 players in 2 months then USU has period(i.e Phil Nelson, Jermaine Dominguez) You seem to let this one get to your head, USU is no power at all, yeah they finish with good records but take a look at their OOC games, who are those schools? Play some real schools before boosting yourself

USU has never won the WACK and usually finishes in the Top 4 in the WAC, Carroll is the d**n team! before he showed up teams like Hawaii would come to your house and pound your A$$!!!!(happend in 04-05) play some real schools first! Since carroll has played at USU the aggies has been able to compete but once he leaves.....good luck finding a replacement.

Would someone tell seldomseensmith to shut up about USU being in the post season every year? Since when was it worth bragginng about being in the NIT every year?

Also I don't think he appreciates how good Carroll is. Last year's USU would have been in last place with out JC. And he is right that Nelson and Harris were good but that was when JC was a freshman and sophomore.

Weber has kicked Nevada's but most of the games they have played against each other too but who cares Nevada doesn't quite have the basketball history that USU and Weber have.

Also why brag about losing to Weber 24 times if we are so weak. BYU-Provo has lost to Weber 6 times, Utah has lost to Weber 10 times. go weber!

Whether or not seldomseen will accept it, JC Carroll is one of the greatest players in USU history.

He is very proud of his team making it to the NIT consistently, to bad they never win though. As for the NCAA tournament. WSU, USU, & BYU-Provo have close to the same win/loss record. Utah however doesn't even compare, they have many more wins and appearances.

That is true all the schools have similar NCAA tourney records...however, WSU has only been around for 40+ years and USU has had a bball team since 1905 (102 years).

But who cares...lets see what all our teams can do next year!

New news about Kraemer - I talked to the WSU coaches and they basically said:
He is a good player, but we could only offer a walk-on position as we are out of scholarships. It was a good effort on our part they said, but we couldn't beat a scholarship offer from Nevada.

Too bad, sounds like he must be pretty good!
