    We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

    With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Better Conference Name than "Big Sky"

Two possibilities:

Either (1) "Majestic West Conference" (emphasizing vastness, environment, nobility) :) :)

or (2) "True West Conference" (emphasizing we're not the "Far West" or the "Midwest") ;)


Both names more equally distribute identity (political) capital to all conference members than the Montana-centric name currently under use. Tradition is not a sufficient reason to hold on to error. It is time for the conference to admit its mistake, correct the error and move forward.

Its too similar to the DII football conference in Colorado, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Some conference names are similar. e.g. American East and American Athletic.

We would be the Rocky Mountain Conference and they the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Similar but different.
