• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Hornets crush Northern Colorado today and sweep the Bears to start off Big Sky play 3-0.

the first year Montana softball team comes to town next weekend and the Hornets will likely roll over the new Griz team.

Nice to see a huge crowd out today against Cal.

Sac State fans do seem to come out big time when the Hornets take on big time schools..

Softball starts 6-0 in BSC play and completed the sweep against the hapless griz today via the mercy rule in a 9-1 win.

Sweep of the Griz.

Hornets 6-0 in the Big sky.

Does not get any better than this!!!!

Best of luck Hornets on the road in Cedar City , Utah and Grand Forks , ND the next two weeks.

Time to take care of things on the road in the big, big, far out of the way middle of no where Big Sky Conf. r

Hornets beats UC Davis 5-4.

Sac State completes a Causeway sweep of the rival Aggies today in softball and baseball.

Best of luck to the Hornets on the dreaded trip to the frozen tundra of North Dakota this weekend. Fingers crossed that all 3 games get played as it is very important that games at UND count. If any of the games are cancelled due to snow and cold they are often not made up.

As noted by JP, a walkoff triple from senior OF Alexa Chattleton (Rancho Santa Margarita-Trabuco Hills HS) plated senior OF Nicole Clark (Folsom HS) all the way from first base to salt this one away. The winning run was Sac's first lead of the game. Junior reliever Kaitlyn Yerby (Modesto-Enochs HS/College of Charleston) picked up the win with two effective innings, including a 14-pitch seventh, to improve to 2-0.

The Hornets improved to 18-19, 7-2 Big Sky, while Davis fell to 13-20, 1-5 Big West. The Hornets are tied for first. This win prevented a Davis sweep of the season series.

The hornets go half way across the country to destroy North Dakota in three games.

Sac Sate scores 36 runs in 3 games
UND scors 5

Sac State and Idaho State sit on top of the Big Sky standing with 10-2 marks with ISU coming to Sac
on Friday.

I'm surprised the Sioux didn't follow the example of the Cubs and claim "weather problems" in cancelling a couple of those games.

Hornets fall to a very bad UOP team tonight 5-0

Time for Sac State to step it up this weekend and take charge of the Big Sky standings against ISU

Our softball team has been right there at the top but has not sealed the deal time after time to do what is needed to take charge of the Big Sky.

This weekend against first place ISU and next weekend against 2nd place WSU , both at home is perfect for Sac State to bring home a Big Sky title.

The Hornets come in 2nd place in softball year after year.

Time for the coaching staff to step it up and bring a title home.

2nd place is getting very old with a program that should be on top.

The first place Hornets are defeated in all three games against the other first place ISU team in really bad showings att home. A chance to take control of the Big Sky softball race has been lost. On to Weber State next week at home and PSU on the road before the Big Sky tourney which the Hornets will likely make , but on the road again. Hope our program can eventually turn things around.

Hornets win 2 of three over Weber State and sit alone in 2nd place in the Big Sky standing s with 3 games remaining at PSU. Looking good for the Hornets to make the Big Sky tourney which will likely be held at ISU.

Hornets go on the road to PSU and sweep the Vikings going into the Big Sky tourney. Time again to pack bags and head to Idaho State to play for the Big Sky tourney title at the tiny ISU field Always a bummer to see Sac State not host as the school with the best softball facilities in the Big Sky. But all good. Go Hornets.

The softball team beats up on Idaho State 10-6 in the conference tournament to advance to the finals against BBQ U. This sets up a revenge rematch in the finals after enduring the loser's bracket of the double-elimination tournament over three days. What a grueling schedule. ISU was set up to have the easy way with a THU game and only one guaranteed FRI game, but they blew it....

:notworthy:

Tournament Results:

Game 1: #1 Idaho State d. #4 Southern Utah 14-3 (5 innings- mercy rule) THU 1 PM
Game 2: #3 Weber State d. #2 Sacramento State 4-3 FRI 10 AM
Game 3: #3 Weber State d. #1 Idaho State 9-1 FRI 11 AM
Game 4: #2 Sacramento State d. #4 Southern Utah 8-0 FRI 1 PM (SUU eliminated)
Game 5: #2 Sacramento State d. #1 Idaho State 10-6 FRI 3 PM (ISU eliminated)
Game 6: #2 Sacramento State vs. #3 Weber State SAT 1 PM
Game 7: #2 Sacramento State vs. #3 Weber State SAT 4 PM (if necessary)

Congrats to the Hornets for fighting back yesterday to eliminate SUU and ISU. Another winning season for the hornets 28-26.On to next year and so hope the Hornets can figure out a way to get out of second place finishes and get the right to host the Big Sky tourney. 38 wins for Weber State. Good luck to them in the NCAA and hope they get past the first round which is so uncommon for a Big Sky team. But hope they do.
