• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Who can tell me about the Alumni game Sept.28th?

Is it free? Open to the public? Worth going too? Does the current team play (the info I saw said the current team will be introduced)? Is the consession stand open? Etc.? New to ISU hoops. Just finding my way around. Thanks.

I thought this was spam at first. Any reason why this new username is VERY similar to a long and respected member's username on here? It could be inadvertent, but I'm thinking the other. Especially when the style/grammar is very similar to some other posts on here. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

Oh no spam here. I was a boater for a while and have been posting a few times since coming here. So, the alumni game.....

Here is all the info you are asking for...

Folks:

This looks like it is going to be a once in a decade type affair.

Seton, has staff and his current team (along with some former players and yours truly) have been working hard the past several months to put together a weekend for the ages if you're an ISU WBB fan and supporter.

They are having an Alumni Reunion weekend starting Friday, September 28th. Adidas is helping to provide some gear for the alumni and ISU is also providing tickets to the NAU-ISU game on Saturday.

Things start with the Alumni Game at Reed Gym, Friday, September 28th at 6PM. Player introductions will start around 6:15-6:20 that evening.

FANS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND, FREE ADMISSION!

The last time the game was held was in 2014. 21 former players returned and about 350-400 fans were in attendance.

THIS YEAR'S EVENT BLOWS THAT ONE RIGHT OUT OF THE WATER!

As of this writing 41 FORMER PLAYERS and FIVE FORMER COACHES are slated to return and we figure to pick up a few more in the next few weeks.

41 FORMER PLAYERS from as far back as 1977-1978. 18 of them were part of Bengal championship clubs, 11 earned either first or second team All- Big Sky Conference honors and nine scored at least 1,000 points.

The list of those players is at the end of this comment.

Also among the returning coaches will be KEVIN GILBRIDE, who along with Sandra Noakes were the first co-head coaches in program history 1974-1975.

Kevin was also a G.A./ linebackers coach for the football program and would go on to be an assistant coach in the CFL and NFL (21 years / NFL). He worked for the Oilers, Jaguars, Chargers, Bills, Steelers and Giants where he won two Super Bowl's as Eli Manning's offensive coordinator.

It is going to be a memorable evening, so mark your calendars and bring your family and friends!

Seton, his staff and the current team will also be there that night to meet and greet the fan base.

Saturday the WBB ISU area at Benglefest will be the place to come and say "hello", to hang out and get to talk with some of your favorite former players who are invited to join the current team and staff.

The list of returnees starts now: (As of 9/11)

Know there is like a snowball's chance in hell of this happening, but I would love to see both games. Living in Washington state makes that impractical. Is there a way to televise the event and make it available online? Pretty please ;)

I know at the last WBB game they filmed it and showed it on their web site but I don't know what their plans are this time around. Haven't asked anyone about it, I've been out of the loop a lot, staying close to home as much as I can because I've been pretty sick since last Wednesday.

Matt Stucki did call me though a few days ago and sent me the list of returning men's players:

2018 Men's Alumni Game:
Matt Stucki
Felix
Andy Bybee
Akbar Abdul Ahed
Logan Kinghorn
Kenny McGowan
Jesse Smith
Cowboy
Ron Harwell
Chris Hansen
David Schroeder
Hayes Garrity
Mike Gurnell
Amorrow Morgan
Steve Hayes - Coach
JT Nelson - Coach
Boyd Grant - Coach
Jim Potter - Coach

Add Stacey Mortensen to the ISU WBB Alumni List. She played in 1989-1991. That's 42 former players...and counting!

Also the Bengal student newspaper had a nice write up on the upcoming game:
