• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Welcome David Patrick. New MBB HC!

Press conference for Patrick was today in the welcome center and was broadcast live on ESPN+. Replay is available on ESPN+. Very good job by all those involved, solid speech and Q&A with Patrick.

Okay, he did this second - but well done!

What a good Friday it is. Patrick brings in a solid guard along side Chappell and we'll be no worse than middle of the pack in year one.

Let's go!!!

The Patrick hire is already paying dividends. I love the attempt to compete year one, regardless of eligibility. Find and play the best players.

Agreed. And we have to remember, grad transfers are a lot different than undergrad transfers.

These young men got their undergrad degree at their previous university, and now, they’re pursuing a master at Sac State. Most people get their masters at a different school than their bachelor.

Great listen here.

Agreed. The thing that caught my ear was when DP talked about a key selling point being Nelsen's vision for athletics. I sure hope this hire marks a turning point on the facilities front for this department.

And we have an announcement on an assistant coach.

Talking about Vision and acting on Vision are two universes apart.

Indeed they are.

Producing consistent winning programs in football and both men’s and women’s basketball could go a long way toward action though, no?

Agree with both of you. Assuming these programs can start/continue winning, this admin needs to capitalize on that momentum and get something built.

Myers has been on some notable and accomplished programs and coaching staffs, much like Patrick. Solid addition.

I told the Give Sac State people a written response as to why I wouldn’t be donating again, until there were firm football and basketball facility improvements on the way.

Totally agree. If NAIA Vanguard university can put a 1900 seat small arena together, why could not we get moving. https://give.vanguard.edu/lionsarena/

Like the concept of incorporating classrooms and a variety of other use spaces in an arena and permanent football stadium The small old gym, old theater and many other old buildings on campus need replacing on a campus with now over 32,000 students.

I realize the video I’m posting here from Twitter is KINGS related, but I notice about 20 seconds in that David Patrick seems to be sitting next to new KINGS head coach Mike Brown. He’s even repping a SAC ST BB t-shirt.

Maybe it’s no big deal, but I wonder what the deal is?! I don’t believe I ever saw Brian Katz or Brandon Laird present at KINGS summer practices or connected to the program in any way.

Perhaps I’m wrong. But this seems like another sign of things changing within the basketball program.
