While I'm not going to gloat over the others' woes, I want to point out something from the Athletic Honors Reception Thursday night:
A new team award has been established for the efforts teams make in the community and the classroom. Jimmy Henderson, the AAD/Academic Success pointed out the top three teams racked up more points than he had seen with the scoring system.
Its weighted, BTW, so the larger teams don't have an inherent advantage over smaller teams.
Given all the discussion, argument, frustrations, etc., I'm glad to say the winner of this award was the football program.
The other two in the top three were volleyball and womens basketball...
