Congrats to the 2016 softball team for sweeping North Dakota in the Big Sky opening series at home this weekend to move to 3-0 in the Big Sky and improve to 13-12 overall after starting the season 2-8. And great to see the Hornet baseball team sweep the Fighting Hawks in at 6,000 J Street It was a clean sweep of Sac State over UND this weekend. Sweet . Always nice to to defeat the Fighting Hawks from Grand Forks, ND as our very, very distant conference foe.

Best of luck at Montana next weekend .

Go Sac State.

Congrats to the Hornets for going 3-0 against Northern Colorado on the road after a 2-1 road trip to Montana.. Getting it done in the Big Sky Conference with opponents so far from home.

The Hornets are now in first place with an 8-1 Big Sky mark and 18-15 overall.

Good luck at home this coming weekend against Southern Utah.

Would love to see the Hornet win the regular season in order to host the Big Sky tourney which has not
been hosted by Sac State me thinks in the short history of Big Sky playing softball as a sport. Shea Stadium is far and away the very best softball venue in the Big Sky.

10 runs to 0 for our Hornets over the T Birds of SUU for a double header sweep. So the Hornets remain in first place in the Big Sky and may they complete the sweep of the Cedar City , Utah school tomorrow before heading out for 6 road games against Weber State and Idaho State which are right behind the Hornets in the standings.

Congrats to the teams for 10 runs with the Sac State bats continuing to put up many runs and congrats to our pitcher today for being on the mound for both games and not giving up anything. If her arm holds up put her on the mound every game.

And know there are many other pitchers for Sac State getting it done.

Time for this program to win the regular season and host the Big Sky tourney. This program has been so
close so many years as we have the best facility in the Big Sky and the best weather.

Celina Matthias throws yet another shut out against Southern Utah today for the sweep. She pitched a shut out over Santa Clara earlier in the week to register 4 shut outs in a row. Amazing. Expect she has the Big Sky player/pitcher of the week coming up . Keep her on the mound at Idaho State next week as the first place Hornets travel to southern Idaho. As long as her arm holds out stick with what is working as the Hornet offense is also getting it done big time.
