2015 Baseball

Baseball season gets going in a week which has been overshadowed by hoops’ amazing run. Hornetsports has been cranking out some pretty cool season preview interviews. The Hornets are looking to repeat as WAC Champs and hopefully get back to the NCAA Tourney.

The Hornets lost some key players from last season, but return a lot of pitching and some experience as well. I think we'll see a lot of small ball unless a power hitter emerges. Should be another good season nonetheless.

10-3 victory over the Pac 12 Utah Utes on campus in front of almost 500 on a sunny and warm 74 degree winter day .

Nice first win of the season and one of many, many more.

May the Hornet bats continue to come alive (14 runs in the first two games) all season long.

And may our Hornet baseball team continue to be one of our top attended sports on and off campus (downtown) Every reason to believe that this outstanding program will continue to grow and grow and be a top program at our school among other many sports programs that are emerging.

Go hornets

Sac State takes down Utah again today 3-1 in front of 643 fans on campus. Sweet . Hornets go for the series win tomorrow at 11 a.m.. Over 1,300 fans so far in the first three games at home of the year. Be great to see another large crowd tomorrow on the holiday.

Go Hornets!!

Nice series win for the Hornets to open up the 2015 season. And just a bit short of 2,000 in attendance on campus for the 4 game series. Love the attendance for Hornet baseball. big time!!! And with lights coming to the stadium soon attendance will just grow with night games replacing day games in the warm weather in Sacramento. Baseball will continue to become one of our biggest drawing sports and that is GREAT!!

had not thought of this before but baseball at 1,200 and soccer at 1,500 both have facilities at Sac State that seats more than Hornet Gym. Wow. And the Hornet softball stadium seats only a bit under 100 less then the old gym. Wow.

Sweet double header sweep of the University of Portland today on campus. 19 runs in the two games!! And a one run win in the opener yesterday. the 6-1 Hornets go for the sweep tomorrow before heading out for the first road series against Texas Tech. Roll on baseball.

Go Hornets!!

Sac State Pride

hornets fall 2-0 to Portland in the series final in front of another great crowd of over 500

sac State now heads out on the road to face the 8-1 Texas Tech Red Raiders for four games. TT is ranked number 5in the nation and it's going to be exciting to see how the Hornets do against a top ranked program in front of huge crowds cheering against them. The program is used to this level of competition on the road and will represent well.

Good start to the season (6-2), too bad we missed out on the sweep yesterday. Starting pitching has done well but the bullpen has dropped a few close leads this season, but it looks like our bats are hot for now. Should be another entertaining baseball season on tap.

The Hornets dropped a game in the 9th inning to #5 Texas Tech on Wednesday, and the rest of the series was snowed out.

The 10-7 Hornets take another 2-0 win over Cow Poly today in SLO. The Hornets go for the series win tomorrow. Up 2-1 right now in the 4 game series.
