Mike Brown isn't coming back to Weber next year. He asked Rahe for a release so that he could pursue other priorities and life objectives; he is heading to a Bible School. I wish him well and success in his future endeavors.

At the luncheon today, from Coach Rahe.

Coach was talking about next years team and how, even if Lillard leaves (if...ha), good the team will be next year. He said that Mike approached him last week and told him what he (Mike) wanted to do in the future and that was to attend Bible School. Oral Roberts and Liberty both could be options, I guess.

Coach also said that Mook will be evaluated in a few weeks to see if his knees could handle another season of basketball. If he can't, look for both Bolomboy and Hill to play next fall. 2-3 signees this spring.

i wish him the best. sad to see a signee from within the state going away. if he pursues basketball im sure he will do well. as for going to a religious college there are too many to even guess.

i remember matt emadi went to a reglious college and excelled on the court but he actually already had his 4-year degree from weber after 2006 when he left for Biola.

Folks, some Inside intel on Mike Brown. While there is interest from D1 Christian schools, there is no interest from Mike. He is seeking a smaller school, smaller classrooms and more fellowship and intimacy in his educational environment. Most likely D2 or NAIA if he plays but he will play if he views the program as a platform for his service and testimony.

Regarding his teammates and coach Rahe, they have all been class acts! His teammates understand and are still working out with him and enjoying his company while it lasts. Coach Rahe, god bless him was only concerned that it was his fault and when he understood that it was not, responded "I completely understand, you have a calling." I just felt that was impressive, classy and wanted to share that with everyone.

I just wanted to post an update for those of you who have wondered where Michael would end up playing. He was fortunate enough to have had quite a few options, but has finally settled on Colorado Christian.

It was a difficult decision for Michael to leave Weber State, because he loved his teammates, and really enjoyed his time there, but he realized that he needed to be at a school where he could pursue an education that was more in line with his future goals--working in some form of ministry. I know he is very thankful for the experiences he had, the friendships he made, and the opportunity to be a Wildcat. I also want to thank all of you for being such loyal and supportive fans of the team. Being part of a D1 basketball team was Michael's dream for a very long time, and it's a memory that he will always cherish, in part because the fans made it such an incredible experience. This transfer just moves him closer to another dream that has become his lifelong plan--being able to help people.

I also offer my thanks to those who have been so supportive to Michael at school, in basketball, and on these boards. I'll be there supporting Weber State as much as I can next season (at least as long as they don't schedule any games against CCU)!

Thank you for your kind words and for your update on Mike. Mike is a wonderful person and that is exhibited nicely through you his parents. The apple didn't fall to far from the tree. I only wish him the best in his future endeavors, and I hope that he is able to fulfill those goals and dreams he has set out for himself.
