Chiverton will have the biggest and most immediate impact in the conference, completely zeros out the loss of Dean in my opinion, especially with all the great guards EWU has. That's why I think Eastern has the best chance to challenge Weber this year.
Hankins Redshirted, so if you're using Redshirts got to throw Otis, Hajek and Cataldo from Portland St. in there too.

I heard some rumours that UNCO's Proctor wont be back. That would be a significant loss for the cubs. Can a Bear fan confirm this?skeeter wrote:Biggest losses

Hankins is a redshirt? Hmmm...I might need to replace him on the list. So much for my research. Not only will Eastern have Hankins available, but also, Geoffrey Allen is coming off a red-shirt too. That is, if he stayed in Cheney. But agreed there are a number of good looking players coming off of Red-shirts this year.skeeter wrote:Chiverton will have the biggest and most immediate impact in the conference, completely zeros out the loss of Dean in my opinion, especially with all the great guards EWU has. You're right about Allen, and you throw in Forbes, Coliman, Hankins, and Chiverton who can play the 2 as well, the loss of Dean isn't that big of deal.. They also signed a transfer guard: Crosgile from St. Joseph's who was highly recruited by some Big Ten schools out of high school.talhadfoursteals wrote:Hankins is a redshirt? Don't forget about Winford too. He had some nice looking games last year. Actually, losing Dean might be an improvement for the Eagles.

Overall...I'm thinking the Sky will be a lot better next year. Each team brought in a handful of good looking recruits. MSU has 5 JC's coming in. With JC's you never know. If they mesh and play well together they could compete for a championship.

You're right. Winford lead the Eagles in scoring 6 games and went off for 39 & 28. He was tied with Forbes as their 3rd leading scorer at 10 per game.talhadfoursteals wrote:Don't forget about Winford too. He had some nice looking games last year. I'm thinking that the top three programs in the Sky next season will be Weber, Montana, and Eastern. State, them Lumberjacks, and the Vikings of Portland all have good looking talent on their rosters who could make some noise. As for the others, Idaho State, SAC, and UNCO it looks like they wont be making the post-season.

ouch! those are probably more hurtful to those teams than when we lost session. dean would have been a top 3 player in the league.skeeter wrote:Biggest losses

Word is that Allen is no longer on the team, according to their official roster.talhadfoursteals wrote:Hankins is a redshirt? Hmmm...I might need to replace him on the list. So much for my research. Howdy Jon...I checked out your blog today. Looks great!! Keep up the good work. If you need any information on recruits and who has been signed by which team, drop me a line. Other good blogs that you might be interested in Parsing the WAC, Nor-Cal Preps, and you might want to add SUU's info. They don't have much of a fans forum, but their athletic site isn't too bad.

Agreed on most of your choices.
Only difference would be Montana St., I like Jamie Stewart and Xavier Johnson-Blount a little bit better than Fall. They are going to be interesting this year, with a lot of JUCOs coming in... I have a feeling next season they have a chance to be top 3 in the Big Sky. There's a lot of talent in their class, but might be asking a lot for them to gel together this year. I think Keane might be the best of the bunch for UNC, but him and Huskission are close, I would say.
I am especially excited to watch Chiverton, Morgan, McMullan, and Cheek... I think all 4 of those guys could have big roles for their teams.

After watching Mook and Mike Brown play over the weekend, I think that both of them should be higher on everyone's list. We have a lot of known commodities on this team and they are going to be just as good as everyone thinks. These two guys are going to surprise a lot of pundits. Mook is a beast inside and Mike is doing everything right. There is a long way to go before the first game, so Shai and Gelaun still have plenty of time to do their thing. They are both going to be great players in future. At this point, Mike may be a little ahead of them.
Every year we have improved under this coaching staff, and this year is no different. Everyone looks to be improved. I'm lovin it.

Things are good, but they are sure to get better!
