Signed a linebacker and two linemen. Now to get staff in place and finish the class strong in February.

Early Signing Period: Bears Ink 3
That was cool to see. I tried to find information on what other schools they were interested in (or what other schools were interested in them) and came up blank.

Added a QB, Nate Overholt from Tyler Junior College in Texas. Originally from Oregon and was Gatorade POY for Oregon in 2018. Looks like he’ll have 4 years to play 3. In at semester, so he’ll go through spring ball, which is huge.
Interesting. He didn't start last year so I wonder if he redshirts this season depending on how spring ball goes.

Looks like we Connor Martin and Zach Rush prior to this signing period so it looks like we have 3 QB's on the roster at this point. Not sure how "ready" any of them are but as it stands now, it could be a battle between Connor Martin and Nate Overholt to get the starting position (that is based on the current roster on their website which I have no idea if it's up to date or not).

The signing of RJ Potts is huge. He is a transfer from the University of Cincinnati. He did see some playing time with the Bearcats, so I'm not sure why he transferred out. He was a four star recruit coming out of high school with offers from Notre Dame, Nebraska, Missouri and Cincinnati. He is on campus now and will play LB, although he can play Safety as well. This is great news, our defense was not good at all last year. Here is his bio from the Cincy website.

I swear, every time I look at twitter, UNC is announcing a new signing. Either our recruiting is going gangbusters this year or the media department dropped the ball on announcements in previous seasons. Also, I notice all of the football players are thanking god for this opportunity. I do have to wonder if that plays in to #87's recruiting (since that seems to be a really big part of his life as well).

I like what I see in this class, but like all the others we won't know at least for a couple of years how they turn out. Potts is the key to this class. I'm extremely excited to see this kid play and help out our defense. He's the transfer from Cincinnati. The undergrad kids are highlighted I think by Jihad Marks, from AZ. He chose UNC over NAU, and UTEP. Keep up the good work staff!
That's a tough dose of reality. I really was probably getting a bit over excited about it all, it's good to have realistic expectations.
