Re: Linder's Replacement

Would love to see coach Smiley get the job as well. Some have mentioned Tim Miles, but I say no to that one. I would have loved to see Linder stay at least one more year, win the conference tourney like we could have done this year and then move on to a better job than Wyoming. That's a tough place ...

Wyoming coach fired

It's only relative to UNC hoops because all media are pointing to Linder as a potential candidate. I would rather see him win here for a bit longer and then find a better job than Wyoming. I'm sure it's a huge pay raise, but other than that it's not a great job. Oh well, if Linder does leave hopeful...

Re: Can Linder win the BIG GAME(S)?

No problem with coach Linder. The game last night was that we got beat by a really good team and we came a few shots and missed free throws of winning that game. We might have another shot with them in the playoffs if someone can knock them out before we have a chance to meet them again. Our team w...

Can Linder win the BIG GAME(S)?

I am finally starting to figure out that the guy is a good recruiter, a good regular season coach, but buckles when the big game comes around. I'm super disappointed a the Bears performance last night.

Re: Early Signing Period: Bears Ink 3

Considering our schedule next year and the fact we will have a new QB1, I will be happy with about 4-5 wins.

Re: Early Signing Period: Bears Ink 3

Hero sports has an in-depth ranking from all FCS positions. Unfortunately we didn't land any player in any of the top 25 for any position. Coach McCaffrey has his work cut out for him.

Re: Coaching Staff?

Not sure what either one of them would have brought to this team, the offense was a joke, that as one of the worst jobs of utilizing personnel I’ve ever seen, Knipp was not a spread QB, Fulton was overrated IMO, he had success in the RMAC because of the huge talent gap, and statistically we had one...

Re: Coaching Staff?

I saw were Marty English is going to coach defensive ends at Wyo. I think we will regret not hiring him back. I saw that Nick Fulton is offensive coordinator at Colorado Mesa. I'm happy to see both of these guys land on their feet. Has Collins been offered anything?

Re: Early Signing Period: Bears Ink 3

I like what I see in this class, but like all the others we won't know at least for a couple of years how they turn out. Potts is the key to this class. I'm extremely excited to see this kid play and help out our defense. He's the transfer from Cincinnati. The undergrad kids are highlighted I think ...

Re: Early Signing Period: Bears Ink 3

The signing of RJ Potts is huge. He is a transfer from the University of Cincinnati. He did see some playing time with the Bearcats, so I'm not sure why he transferred out. He was a four star recruit coming out of high school with offers from Notre Dame, Nebraska, Missouri and Cincinnati. He is on c...

Re: Coaching Staff?

Who's going to coach the o-line? That has been the weakest part of the team and they did not name a coach for that position?

Re: Coaching Staff?

I'm not really hyped about too many of these hires. I really like the Baldwin hire, but other than that, there is nothing to be really excited about (I guess other than Armour and McGuire staying around).

Re: Coaching Staff?

I'm also disappointed that coach English will not be on the new staff. I'm not excited about Dave Baldwin, but if his hiring means getting out of that horrible so-called spread that was tried last year, I'm all for the new hiring.

Re: Coaching Staff?

I would love to see him bring Scott Zimmerman with him from Valor. He is one of the all-time great UNC players. Maybe Ben Hamilton too, just to fix the o-line problems.

2020 QB Situation...

is not looking good. I'm okay with Regan leaving as a grad student, but he was really the only QB returning with some experience. That leaves us with Conner Martin as the only guy with any snaps at all. I'm hoping for a drop-down QB transfer, but that would need to happen this Spring and I am not he...

Re: Mind Blown - Welcome Ed McCaffrey

Troy is doing the first coaches show with Ed tonight at 6:05 on KFKA. Hopefully we will get an update on the assistant coaching search. That was a good show, and as normal Troy asks some good questions. Coach was prettying upfront with all of the duties he has with getting a staff together, fundrai...

Re: Mind Blown - Welcome Ed McCaffrey

They've had plans for a new athletic center for a while now. They've been telling recruits that they have the money for it and they're just waiting on the ok to break ground on it. It sounds like they've been selling recruits on that for at least three years now. It's supposed to have a 10,000 ft² ...

I know it's a slim hope, but hope anyways that his son, Luke will transfer from Nebraska to play QB at UNC.

Re: Mind Blown - Welcome Ed McCaffrey

I'm still skeptical until I see who his coaching staff is. I would like to see a number of guys like English, Armour, and Matthews stick around. McCaffrey is a big name, but zero coaching credibility so far.
