• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Thanks Coach Raske!!!

T&F Director Raske will be taking on the same role at her alma mater, Southern Illinois. She did a hell of a lot for the T&F program while she was here. Big shoes to fill. Per Hornetsports:
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Kathleen Raske, the winningest coach in Sacramento State track & field history, has resigned as Director of Track & Field/Cross Country to accept the same position at Southern Illinois, it was announced today.

Raske arrived at Sacramento State in the fall of 2003 and inherited a program which had never finished above fourth place at a Big Sky Championship meet. Over the next 12 years, she guided the Hornets men's and women's track and field teams to 17 Big Sky titles (indoor and outdoor) and added eight second-place finishes. For her work, Raske was recognized as the Big Sky Coach of the Year 16 times.
Along with her team accomplishments, Raske has also produced 15 NCAA All-Americans, eight USATF Junior All-Americans, 128 NCAA National Championship participants, 191 conference champions, and 483 all-Big Sky performers. There have also been 157 new event school records established, and 891 all-time top 10 event marks have been recorded. Raske is the only woman to coach a Div. I men's team to five conference championship titles in NCAA history in any sport.
:notworthy:

Looking ahead, do any of the coaches on the staff go with her? The release goes on to say that a national search will be conducted to fill the position. Given the excellent shape the program will be left in and the top notch facilities, I'm interested to see what kind of interest this position draws.

Thank you Coach Race for an amazing time at Sacramento State and making the Hornets the top program in the big Sky for many, many years. And for also all the titles that clinched the Big Sky title for Sac State for the all sports title on the women's side.

Southern Illinois is so lucky to get you.

You will be missed.

But thank you again for setting the bar for Sac State track and field and cross country
