• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Some good news...

SACRAMENTO STATE WOMEN LEADING THE BIG SKY CONFERENCE ALL-SPORTS RACE

4/2/2008

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- With just three remaining Big Sky Conference sports to compete for in the 2007-08 academic year, the Sacramento State women’s program currently sits in first place among the Big Sky’s nine teams in a race for the conference’s all-sports trophy.

The Hornet women lead the conference with an average of 11.6 points per sport through the fall and winter portion of the season, leading Weber State (10.9), Portland State (10.6), Montana (9.3) and Northern Arizona (8.0) to round out the top five.

The three remaining Big Sky women’s sports up for grabs are golf, tennis and outdoor track and field. The Hornets have already clinched the maximum amount of points (12) for tennis as the team is 8-0 and will have the No. 1 seed for the Big Sky Tournament later this month.

In addition, the women’s golf team is looking to repeat as conference champions when it competes in the Big Sky Championships on April 21-23. The women’s track and field team just won the Big Sky indoor title a month ago.

Three fall sports (cross country, soccer and volleyball) and two winter sports (basketball and indoor track and field) are counting toward the current standings. Sacramento State won conference championships in soccer, volleyball and indoor track.

The Sacramento State women finished fourth in last year’s Big Sky all-sports race, and a first-place finish this year would be a first for the program since joining the conference in 1996-97.

What sort of play is this getting over at eGriz? I've been out of the loop over there since January and will be for at least another month or two.

My best guess is that their either pooh-poohing it or just plain ignoring it because it's not "football."
