• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Flashes of brilliance

In what we euphemistically refer to as “revenue sports” here at PSU, the history of athletic performance in terms of winning percentage has been below .500 in football and a little above that mark in men’s basketball. But, within that record of mediocrity there have been a few seasons of brilliance. In basketball it was the seasons of Ken Bone’s tenure as head coach. In football it was the seasons of Mouse Davis and Pokey Allen. I had hoped we had turned the corner in football during the magical 2015 season. We didn’t. In the few games I attended in 2016 and 2017 the Vikings played so badly it was like they had no received no coaching at all. In basketball I was quite sure we had struck gold before the beginning of conference play this season. Now, not so much. In our home game against Sacramento State I wondered why they appeared to be so poorly coached. I’ve given up on our FCS coach of the year but maybe Peery can pull it together. We need some flashes of brilliance again.
