Rumor is Thomson is back in the transfer portal looking to drop down for his eighth year of eligibility, possibly to Sacramento State to be reunited with coach Troy Taylor. Lol

But if he doesn’t get it, was it worth it?

In poker terms, it seems to me he’s opted to draw for a belly buster straight flush instead of just being satisfied with a standard flush. Hope it works out for him.
I circle back to what I said above last Summer.

According to an article I just read, Thomson lost out to a red shirt freshman — because he’s less error prone according to coach.

The season has a ways yet to go — but this was exactly what I was afraid of for Kevin.

Was it worth it? I sure don’t think so. I doubt his plan was to transfer and sit.

If his goal was seriously to get a look at the next level — he shoulda stayed put. Can’t turn heads and get attention when you aren’t dressing for games.

Sad, sad development. All because these kids think they need to be at a power 5 FBS program and that it’s more prestigious. Sometimes a good situation is a good situation even if it’s not premier.

The ironic part is, if he had stayed he would have been sitting anyway.....

Precisely. Thought that was well known.

Thomson wouldn’t be playing til next Fall, but he would be playing and starting,

It would be a difficult task to pull off if he had a full spring to practice/compete and then a full summer to get more familiar with the coaches and offensive players and then a full fall camp to actually compete for the starting job. Without those three opportunities how in the hell does anyone think he can pull this off? As another poster pointed out, if this transfer leads Thomson to a back-up spot he has severely hurt his chances of a shot at the next level if he had one at all. Either there's a lot more to this story that has not surfaced...Thomson is getting really bad advice/guidance...or both.
And then it happened...

U Dub posters seem to indicate Thomson suffered a rib injury in camp and that’s why he’s not been suited up with the team.

Man, if he really is injured and doesn’t play with UW, can he really drop back down to a FCS, like Portland State and ball out next Fall???

Funny, I recently read an article where the HC said this:
“All four guys really did a great job during training camp and it could have gone either way,” Lake said. “And Dylan, with his leadership skills and the way he (operated) our offense during training camp and make plays and also limit mistakes, is the reason he got the edge.”
That didn’t sound like Thomson’s injury situation was the tipping point.

But let’s assume for a moment that it was. Several of us here also pointed out that — if KT had a tough time remaining healthy playing FCS — it would be less likely to happen in the PAC12. Another reason I thought the kid got bad advice and made a poor decision. Of course, it’s his decision to make. He’s gotta live with the result.

Yikes, now IW games being canceled due to Covid. Kevin looks like he’s going to expire his last year of eligibility without even touching the field.

As was said by many back when it happened, it was an very poor decision. The chances for downside were far greater than the upside.

That said, it was his decision to make and he’s the one that has to live with the result.

I just hate seeing it end this way for a kid that worked so hard to come back and make something of his collegiate career after all the early injuries.

And That's That

Disappointing. I was hoping he'd come back to Sac. Now to hope he hooks on with my Cowboys. Though, truth be told, as far as I'm concerned, the only man truly qualified to quarterback my Cowboys is the immortal Danny White....
