I don't know if that's THE big news forthcoming, but my source tells me that a new surface is in fact coming this year. The source also agrees with your comment on the current turf.

#2020Vision has to imply something bolder than upgraded bathrooms or field turf.
Maybe getting to play in the new downtown soccer stadium? I know, soccer stadiums suck for football, but so do erector sets built around a track.
My 2nd guess is some structural improvement to our erector set built around a track.

Why is the schedule a big reveal?
I thought last year was the hardest ever, why make it harder?
New turf? Wasn't the "old" turf just put down?
I know they were in litigation with Mondo about the track fading and a replacement, but that doesn't effect football or the turf. Other than making it shittier with a track around the stadium.

We’ve known this would be the schedule for years, so hoping there’s something else coming, but I have a feeling this is the only “reveal” they were planning.Green Cookie Monster wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 2:38 pmWhy is the schedule a big reveal?

The schedule ain't that big a deal to have a "reveal" for it. It's quite comparable to this year's schedule, and might even be a bit easier, as both FBS schools will be ripe for a "scalp," while Dixie State shouldn't give us any trouble at all....

Don't think anything 'big' would be announced without Nelson calling a press conference to announce any capital investment. Havent seen any mention from Joe Davidson at the Bee either.
My guestimates as to what that tweet was about in order of probability...
1. It was about the 2020 schedule graphic that was released the next day.
2. There will be a new playing surface in 2020 (this one was looking beat).
3. Announcing minor stadium improvements like more beer vendors(lol), more gates, a special donor only area with perks.
4. Permanent bathrooms.
5. There will be a major video screen upgrade.
Wild Card - It was teasing the announcement of new apparel deal with Nike.

In retrospect, me too.
The only things that happened this week were the schedule announcement (which all of us here already knew) and the FCS Awards Banquet tonight, which involved Coach Taylor being awarded the Eddie Robinson award (which all of us already knew).
Unless they plan to announce something else tomorrow, this week is done.
Looks like much ado about nothing. Huge tease.
