Re: Spring Ball 2017

So I email the Hornet football support staff asking for any information or news on spring ball, things such as new coaches, any players making an impression, any surprises, etc. Got a nice email back that there are two new coaches, and that I can find all the information I need on the Hornet website...

Re: New Staff?

I wouldn't even mind if Johnny O came back. He's had great success at AR and he knows a lot of coaches he could bring in. And we could afford him...

Re: New Staff?

Looks like we lost our linebackers coach to a local high school.

Linebackers coach Tyler Almond is leaving to become head coach at Christian Brothers HS in Sacramento.

Re: 2017 Recruiting

Based on the number of incoming QB's, I'd say more than one is leaving.

Re: 2017 Recruiting

Wow...29 recruits with only 8 seniors showing on the roster. We lost a large number of players, which makes one wonder "why". I know there's always turnover at FCS schools but that seems high to me.

Move from the Big Sky

This makes a whole lot of sense. North Dakota: The football program is finalizing a move from the Big Sky to the Missouri Valley Conference, according to the Billings Gazette, which adds the plan is to play in the Big Sky in 2017, followed by two years as an affiliate member and then move to the Mis...

New QB coach - Sacramento State: Sources tell CoachingSearch that former Georgia State offensive coordinator Luke Huard will join the Sacramento State staff as quarterbacks coach. Huard spent four years at Georgia State, including one as offensive coordinator.

A lot more JC guys being looked at this year than in the past. I hope they aren't going to try and rebuild in one year. Still need coaches to coach the guys.

Re: Head Coach Situation

Watching the UCLA game last night I was thinking of Angus McClure. Then I am looking on the sideline and I believe we can do better. How about Klayton Adams who coached here before and is from Sacramento. He has been part of two rebuilding process at San Jose State and Colorado. I am sure he has le...

Re: Fall Camp starting/New Season

Actually looked pretty good. Offensive line suprised me and K-Ham looked comfortable picking out receivers. Kickers did well, punting still suspect. WR's didn't drop many balls and Demps looked good in his transition from BB to FB. Cassel looked good, too. Kniffin did not play. Defense did pretty we...

Big Sky preseason all conference team

Good to see that sophomore inside linebacker Manoah Pearson is on the preseason all conference team. Only Sac State player to make it.

Re: Spring Camp 2016

I see where the updated roster shows Robinson moved from QB to WR. Good move there. Also, the big RB, Timiteo, is no longer on the roster. He looked good in spring ball. Added another big JC receiver and two more kicker/punters.
