Re: First Game In...

There's a very interesting game set for tomorrow night: BYU at Navy. This matchup hasn't happened since the late '80s, and it's the result of COVID-related scrambling. Should be interesting. No worries about Navy conditioning, but will BYU be ready? Surprising that ANY UT-based schools are playing A...

First Game In...

#11 Central Arkansas took out #10 Austin Peay last night. Star QB Jeremiah Oatsvall had a rough night for the Governors, largely due to the ineptitude of the offensive line, but he was certainly game. While the game opened with a bang when Peay went 75 yards on the very first play to open scoring, t...

Re: Fun/Late Night Thoughts - New Conference Out West?

At the risk of riling up the nay-sayers, for a long time, I've wanted a new Pacific Coast Athletic Association to replace what ultimately became the Big West, featuring some old PCAA/Big West schools and some splitting off from the Big Sky so as to provide a second Left Coast FCS conference to build...

Re: Pac-12 Conference-Only Schedule

Personally, I'd like to see UW replaced with a Austin Peay return match, but given the scarcity of funds, that's probably a non-starter. And I really don't like the idea of replacing UW with yet another D-II/NAIA drop-down game, even if the Committee officially waives the 7-FCS-or-better game requir...

Re: There Ain't Gonna Be A Season...

I'm not so sure. Cali jucos announced pushing fall sports to spring, though I wonder at the logistics of that, particularly given that some athletes still pursue multiple sports at the juco level. It's certainly a possibility, though I wouldn't really want to see men's football (pro, college, and HS...

Austin Peay HC Quits

Austin Peay head coach Mark Hudspeth has resigned after one season in which he led the Governors to the best season in their history (11 wins) and a first round win over our beloved Hornets. No explanation given other than a desire to spend more time with his wife and kids.... https://clarksvillenow...

2010-2019 All-Decade Teams

I'm not familiar with everyone, but I would favor Thomson over Safron. Could Thomson have been dissed because he transferred? Dotson, Carter, Obinna, Nash, Davis, and Sankey are all spot-on, however.... https://www.hornetsports.com/sports/fball/2019-20/releases/202006290kogt4?fbclid=IwAR2XNnthdK6Yhd...

Re: Kevin Thomson In The Portal???

I was thinking it'd be fair to say Thomson will be able to relay all of our plays/signs ahead of the game. Like the Seahawks signing whomever the 49ers most recently released before they play them... LOL I'm sure the coaching staff will account for that, but in a short turnaround situation, it'll b...

Re: Not Good News At All...

At this point, Sierra College seems prepared to move forward in an online environment with sports available, too. At least, the football coach said that he plans to play if the JC athletics governing authority allows for it. Perhaps Sac could do the same. Knowing the way the CSU operates, though, wa...

Hornets by the Numbers

Have you guys caught the new "Hornets by the Numbers" thing the school is posting this past week or so? It's an interesting idea, I find, but it seems that outside of the Hammerheads (and Charles Roberts, who's actually listed twice, for 20 and 32), whoever's behind this is focusing WAY too much on ...

Re: Strength and Conditioning Staff Update

Not thrilled with the "two-headed monster" going on here. I'd MUCH rather see ONE strength and conditioning director. They're telling the Olympic sports director that she's not good enough to coach football players...which is bogus....

I just noticed the date. This was originally posted February LAST YEAR. Still, even as the number 1 fan of a former Hornet gymnast (outside of her family, anyway), I wasn't aware. Thanks for the post, movielover.

I know I've been greedy for the "scalp" lately, but THAT is pretty much a guaranteed L.
