Re: 2021 Recruiting Thread

63 scholarships can be split between 85 players at the FCS level. I don't recall if this number was adjusted by the NCAA due to the china virus. The track and field athletes could also get a (partial) T&F scholarship.

Re: 2021 Recruiting Thread

Nice looking class and a good haul. Lots of size brought in. 6 are 2/3 star recruits.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: SUU to Bolt Big Sky for the WAC

Excellent post. Southland will be fine, there are potential D2 move ups in the Lone Star Conference that can backfill and the SLC is a pretty bloated conference as it stands now so expansion wouldn’t be a must if these schools bail for the WAC. The shakeup is good for us. A FB only FCS conference ce...

Re: BREAKING NEWS: SUU to Bolt Big Sky for the WAC

SUU invite to the WAC is official. These typically don't go out unless they will be accepted. Would be a major coup if the WAC pulls SUU and the Southland TX schools.

M&W 2020 Season

Finally some Hornet sports being played. The men opened up at home against Idaho and looked really good and are 3-0 on the young season. It's very early and no telling if this season even gets played in its totality, but this is probably the most athletic roster top to bottom of our D1 history. The ...

Re: Pac-12 Conference-Only Schedule

Just like when USC dropped UCD football game the contracts have guarantee payouts as well as cancellation fees. If Pac12 cancellation fees were Not included in those contracts (amateurish) I would be Shocked and disappointed! They know where to mail the Pay Check even if they cancel the game this s...

Re: Pac-12 Conference-Only Schedule

Pac 12 officially ( link to press release )doing away with non-conference games so there goes the Thomson revenge game against UDub. Pac 12 and Big 10 are upping their conference slate to 10 games. Interestingly enough, this will be a boon for the big boys since all those body bag payout games are c...

Re: Can We Land Jason Shelley (Utah) From the Portal?

I’m confident that Coach Taylor has already done all of the above and more that we haven’t even considered? 🙏🏻🤷🏻‍♂️ Coach Taylor has impressed and I doubt he will start this season unprepared. Jake Dunniway with a Good O Line can throw some darts. Strong backfield options that I expect will be modi...

Re: Can We Land Jason Shelley (Utah) From the Portal?

There would be some precedent for a drop down PAC-10 (at the time) QB to come to SAC. Mcleod Bethel-Thompson, played for UCLA, started their bowl game, then played for us for a couple years after that. Either way, we need one more body in that QB room, IMO. Yeah, we really wasted his talent those 3...

Re: Kevin Thomson In The Portal???

Agree that it sucks to see him leave, but those are the transfer rules now so this is the new norm in college football. This program will be fine with Taylor at the helm. I hope Duvalko is redshirted even though Thomson is gone. He'll still get to see action in 4 games and it would give him an addit...

Re: Kevin Thomson In The Portal???

That’s too bad about Thomson. If he would have stayed here and stayed healthy, we no doubt would have won another BSC Title and made a run in the playoffs. That would have put him down as the best QB in Hornet history by far. He’s doing what’s best for him and that’s his call. Best of luck to him. F...

Disappointed in how this page has turned into a politicize non-direct sports related page. This is much bigger than sports. All these "chinese hate" could also be unfounded as France recently announced that their first known case was back all the way in December. Now I didn't say that to open the d...

Re: Not Good News At All...

The government has forcibly prevented millions of people in CA and throughout the country from supporting their families via executive fiat and has failed to disseminate any reasoning for their decision to continually extend the lock downs thus hurting American families even more. I couldn't give a ...

Re: Not Good News At All...

Here is the CDC data on deaths by age group. It shows the Chinese Flu deaths compared to total deaths for that age group for the week. There is a total of 65 deaths since the first week of February thru the week of May 5th for the 15-24 age group. 65 Chinese Flu deaths nationwide for the college age...

Re: Not Good News At All...

CA is already in a deep hole due to this self inflicted shutdown (roughly a 25% shortfall of the 2020 budget). The way this keeps dragging on, I don't see a lot of small businesses coming back from this. California will have a budget shortfall of $54.3 billion because of the economic devastation wro...

Re: Not Good News At All...

BS, kids will transfer out of Kalifornia. I bet we see a few on the transfer portal trying to get to a state that is sane. This will be the death knoll for college sports as we know it today. Big money being lost. I don't know why incoming freshmen just opt to go to their local JC for free instead ...

Re: 2020 RECRUITING

At what date will we see the 2020 recruits added to the Hornet Football Team Roster? First Day of School? The Day they are admitted academically and register at Sac State for classes? Thanks My guess would be when the roster gets updated for fall camp. The way things are going, I'll be surprised if...

Re: Multi-Year Extension for Katz

Doubt we see an annual doubleheader with the dungpilers, just can't see them having the stones to take 2 "L's" from Katz every year.

And I would love to see more games in G1 ever year as that could only help on the recruiting trail.
