Here goes...

Eags 45 - UW 34

Why? Watching the UW v. Hawaii game was no help in understanding the Huskies. For me, the apparent UW dysfunction was enough to say go Eags.

Know that our players and coaches can smell the opportunity being presented. Coach Baldwin likes to focus on our team preparation and worry less about what the other team is doing. The Eags will possess the mental edge, if not a physical one, for this game and it will be enough. Looking forward to the EagUW fans predictions and analysis.

It wouldn't surprise me if the huskies line up in a double tight-I formation and simply try to run over our defense.

I don't make predictions, but the dawgs should win by 10.

Possible. How do they handle our offense? Again, didn't get much watching the UW-Hawaii game. They looked vulnerable to the passing game and may overlook our ability to run focusing on the passing game.

I think our team would do fine against a predictable grind it out defense. We really struggle with speedy players that can get out in open space. I don't think they will focus on our passing game, based on our running stats vs SHSU and Vernon's poor QB rating that game. They'll still take it seriously, though.

GoldenEagle you are right on here! If I was Peterson that's what I would do. Pound the ball until the Eagle defense can stop it then start throwing the ball.

Last time they played EWU outgained the Huskies something like 400-250 but they athletes the Udub has now are way, way better than what they had back in 2011. EWU will need to have a well thought out game plan. Its all on how the defense plays. Good fundamental tackling, just don't give up the long plays, which will be hard to do with all the speed the Huskies have. The EWU linebackers will be key to not let things break into the secondary.

On offense look for a lot of VA rolling out and throwing on the run but that's okay because he's good at it, just ask Oregon state! If they can do that and loosen up the defense a little then slip the ball to Forte.

I'm bad at making predictions but I just try to think how many points each team can score per quarter.
so here we go.

UW 48 EWU 24

I hate to throw that out there but if Eastern can put some kind of pass rush on that could all change.
I will be at the game wearing Eastern red which will seen kinda strange since I had Husky season tickets for ten years but hey, let the best team win.

I think they will definitely focus on stopping our passing game. I doubt they want an open-style shootout. I think that is why they will attempt to pound the football, burn the clock and keep our offense off the field.

After what UW did at Hawaii, agree a shootout favors the Eags. Don't care where the big plays for Eastern come from as long as we have enough to shake UW confidence and break down their gameplan. Will be a good test for the O-Line, VA and receivers (are they underperforming?) Think Forte, Brown and company are playing well. Look to get our TE's into the mix too! Starting to warm up for this one :)

I have no idea, still pretty shell shocked from that crap fest last night. The young secondary got lit up in the first half, but seemed to settle down in the second half and performed better.

After all these years, what's left to know about a Baldwin coached team? We'll take our chances early and often with deep passes, and we'll try to keep the opposing offense in front of us but we'll give up a couple really big plays. Although I like our stable of running backs, we have to stick with Vernon, Kupp, and the rest of our talented receivers. Approach this game like we did last year in Corvallis, and i think we'll be the first FCS team to beat ranked FBS teams in back to back years. EWU 45 UW 34.

Other than on "paper" i see no reason why EWU doesn't have an amazing shot at this game.

I don't think this is how they will come out at first, but if we score on them a couple of times, I except to see the power running game come out to grind it out and keep VA off of the field. And then we'll start seeing the play action stuff to the FB and the over the top stuff. I really don't think we'll have much of a chance in this one, unfortunately. With our weaknesses on the defensive line and secondary, I actually think we get blown out in this game. UW 58, EWU 17

Just wondering; when was the last time a Coach Baldwin team got held to 17? How about since the Eags have been FBS? Don't want to see that happen, ever. Pray for a good week of practice and everyone getting healthy.

I really appreciate when fans take off glasses and say what they really think. So, thank you. But when was the last time we lost this badly? 2009? I'm on my phone, so it wouldn't be easy to look up.

This game means a lot to our team. If they were looking ahead in previous games, it was to this game. Even if we fall behind, Baldwin knows how to close gaps. We won't pull a Weber in this one.

They'll probably be 2-3 TD favorites, and they should be. They're a talented team, to be sure. That doesn't mean we're not capable of pulling the upset, though. I think we have to stick to what WE do well, which means spreading the field out as much as possible with our talent at WR and once that get's going try to get some quick hitters with Forte out of the backfield once those running lanes open up some. Once thing is for sure - we'll have to bring our absolute "A" game to have any chance of winning this one. A couple of things that bode well for us are that we generally play well in these types of games. The last time we were really blown out by a Pac-12 opponent was by CAL in 2009. That was an ugly game, but we still went on to make the playoffs that year anyway. And I don't think we'll see the same types of mental lapses that we saw against Montana-Western. This is a big game for basically every player on the team, especially those from the state of Washington, so I expect everyone will play their best. I also think the fact that we had a lot of guys either sit out or get limited reps against Montana-Western is a good thing, because it means they'll be more rested for this one. A lot of people are bagging on this past matchup, but we needed to play a Montana Western. The timing could not have been better, to be honest.
