• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Where's the love for ISU rodeo? I know it's not an NCAA sponsored sport, but that's still a pretty awesome accomplishment!

JJB:

I don't know if a school can officially promote a "club" team. The NCAA might not allow it. For example I know ISU has a club baseball team that has done well the past few years but the only thing I've seen about them are in the Journal.

Maybe someone who knows the rules can clear this up...knowing the NCAA though it wouldn't surprise me if schools aren't allowed to do it.

Ah, that's more like it.

ISU can promote whatever it wants. It promotes debate, and it is pretty good too.

College rodeo is unique, because there are no divisions. ISU competes against CSI who competes against BSU who competes against Sam Houston State who competes against UNLV who competes against Montana State............... well you get the idea.

It's treated like a club program at some schools, and some sponsor it just like they would any other team. CSI treats rodeo just like its other sports.

UNLV has its own site with sponsors and all that.

Anyway, I think it's great that ISU has something like this.

It's clearly more of a western thing, but there are still over 130 schools which compete. ISU competes in the Rocky Mountain region with CSI, most of the Utah schools, and some Colorado schools.

The rodeo team sold programs at the football games several times last fall.
If the rugby team could get a mention over the Holt PA system during football games, why not the rodeo team? Yee Haw!
