We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

First Place, 3 Games Left

Not a bad Thursday night for the Bears:

(1) Vanquished the Vandals 93-49

(2) Clinched a first round bye in the BSC Tournament

(3) Montana was upset by NAU, so UNC is now in a first-place tie with Montana and EWU.

Three games left: EWU on Saturday, then @MSU and @Montana next week.

Saturday is Senior Night, last game in Greeley for Jonah, Kai, and Trent.

Quite a tough final stretch of games. I say this every year but I hate conference tournaments for conferences that only get 1 bid to the NCAA tournament. It makes winning the regular season somewhat meaningless.

For what it's worth, one of ESPN's four prognosticators predicted UNC for the Big Dance:

I think it would be an easier road for UNC if we beat Montana Thursday night. Here is why:

With two games left, EWU and Montana are both 14-4, but Montana has the tiebreaker over EWU, having swept them.

So even if EWU wins both of their remaining games (which they should at home against two of the three worst teams), Montana still has to lose one of its two games for EWU to get the 1 seed.

We are locked in at either 2 or 3. PSU is likely 4.

IF WE BEAT MONTANA, and EWU wins out, EWU gets the 1, and we are with Montana on the 2/3 side of the bracket. This means EWU and PSU (***the two teams who swept us this season***) would be on the opposite 1/4 side of the bracket.

IF WE DON'T BEAT MONTANA, they probably won't lose at home to SUU with so much on the line, and they'll get the 1 seed. In this case, we would have to beat EWU to get to the final.

This Montana team has been up and down. They lost to a non-D1 team at home. They just lost to NAU with a lot on the line, mustering only 56 points. But they also swept EWU, including a 27-point smackdown, on the road.

Great win in hostile Missoula tonight, the first conference home loss for Montana.

Jonah showed he is the BSC MVP tonight.

If we beat Montana State on Saturday, we'll be the 2 seed and play the winner of the 7 vs 10 game. Win that one and it's (probably) Montana a third time to see who goes to the final on ESPNU, likely against EWU.
