Groves Forced to Retire
Evin Groves, the talented but often injured running back for MSU, retired from football Monday due to recurring knee injuries, MSU announced today. Groves burst onto the scene as a true freshman in 2005, rushing for 326 yards and 5 TDs in the final three games of the season, where he got a chance to start. Bobcat fans will always remember his performance against the Grizzlies in 2005, rushing 35 times for 143 yards and a TD, the best performance by a freshman in Cat/Griz history.
